I found "alice" after a considerable amount of trouble tonight. I found her and tried to give her beads back, as much as they will mean to me.

She refused to even touch them. but she drank all the bailey's I could buy.

The third mate told me that he saw beads like the ones she gave me going for a few hundred dollars at the jade budda temple.

I probably spent that much on bailey's for her anyway. As bad as I feel, I don't feel as bad as I should.

I think she really wanted you to have them. She would not have otherwise given them to you. They belong to you now.

The residual guilt I feel, however, is because of a feeling that I stepped on some sort of cultural toe. Played the saving face card, if you will, for admiring the beads.

And by the way, I got a lengty note from her, dictated to the third mate. She said that she never took boys home from the bar and stuff. I'm considering posting it, when I can find it.

It seems as if there was some sort of rum explosion inside my apartment last night. That'll teach me to start drinking after sedating myself with benzo's for twenty hours straight.
