It's weird how you know someone and they change, morph into a different person. It's sad she takes it, and I am like you, even if they are all "I am praying for you!" I don't knock them, because it's their faith..and I respect their right to have it, but sometimes, extreme faith people (like my own sister), their husbands use the bible as a tool against them to keep them down and they think it's how they are supposed to be treated. The bible never was good at empowering women. My own mother will say "I hate how the men (in her church) treat us...but you know, we are only women, it's what should be expected."
He probably definitely is verbally and emotionally abusive, I can't believe she asked him for forgiveness for TALKING to you. God, imagine if she actually had an affair. She would believe she deserved to be stoned.
